avoiding confusion

One problem many of us have is that we do bastardize information, making it to lose meanings.
This Issue of Ekwensu that I am reading up and down these days is really terrible I must confess, people now twist the piece of information that came to us into something else. In case you don't know, may I inform you that I was the person that made that challenging publication few years back, clarifying how Ekwensu was interpreted as Devil when missionaries in their mission efforts preached that War (Ekwensu)  was devilish, Same way I clarified my readers on how Uka and Ndi-Uka was tagged on Christians and Church. Ekwensu originally means War, Aya means crises etc. Now our traditional believe trusts on supernatural forces in everything, so they had shrines were they sacrificed to the unseen force that leads them to War, in my town it was called Ihu-Ekwensu and was sacrificed to every three or four years. Some communities's annual festival were they commemorate their life of wars were called "Igba-Ekwensu" my town calls it "Idu-Olu" with reason.
Any community that bears Umu-Ekwensu etc should not be thinking that they are being called "Children of the Devil", it simply means that they are children of war.
But for those trying to promote Idolatry thinking that they are waking up to reasonings, I will advise that you don't anger your creator please, seek for counseling when you are confused about something, don't fight what you don't know.

An important question

I took my time reading responses and posts resulting from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's message about black.
I want to ask us this simple question: Are we blacks? Please check your skin and tell me if you are black, have we been so brainwashed that we don't know colours anymore?
How long will it take you Africa, to liberate yourselves from this mental slavery that you were subjected by those who claimed supremacy over you because they conquered you in war and ruled over you? How come, up to this time you have not realized these, now that somebody is bringing you to light, you are shamelessly displaying ignorance?
Come to think of the theory "Black is absence of Colour", is it a new theory? Is it not this theory that made them to tag us blacks? Implying that we are nothing (colourless).
I am not black, if i am black, i would be so proud of it because black humans are so few in the world and are always adored when they are found, I believe that Pastor Chris message is meant to draw your attention to why you were nicknamed Black. But this wouldn't stop me from defending Black as a COLOUR, neither will i attack someone who is standing on an already existing theory to correct you. The theory that says "Black is absence of Colour" is same theory that says "White is absence of Colour", they went on to justify White as a Colour forgetting that its same logic that holds  Black and White, all because they have nicknamed Africans black and nicknamed themselves whites, are they whites? black and white human are special because they are rare in the world, we adore them because they are rare and beautiful to behold.

THE STRONG MAN'S WAY TO GOD

In the short but powerful book, the author, a well known evangelist, explains why we should practice fasting. Referring to some of the great men of the past - Moses, Ezra, Elijah and Daniel specifically - he shows how, through the power of fasting, they were able to achieve great things. In the author’s view, governments around the world 'are swamped by corruption, forcing the people they claim to rule over to live in poverty, wretchedness, hopelessness and sorrow'. Even the church is not immune. Something needs to be done, and urgently. The first step is to recognize the full scale of the problem confronting humanity. However, all hope is not lost. The answer lies in each and every one of us if only we follow the steps laid out here. Adewale Maja-Peace The Editor

My Hero goes home

Tribute To Erasmus Nduka Nwabuokei Of Onicha Olona Part1 The Year 1895-1904 Were years of unexpected and unimaginable experiences in the today Anioma region. The British invaded the territory and changed the people's way of life and leaderships, especially that of areas they viewed as "Hard To Control", fight ensued as resistance became inevitable! Who will go down was not a concern to the people, all they wanted was: "The Intruders" must leave or die. But the invaders were more sophisticated so they conquered and it was recorded that the British came with "Divide And Rule System ". In Onicha Olona, there were only two Ruling Houses by circumstance ie: Umu Ugbe and Umu Ozo-Omone (cousins) in Ogbeobi but the invaders in their "divide and rule system" changed the system in 1900, this led to the great bloodshear in 1901-1904, which the reporters in "British Invaders" said to be the second phase of Ekwumekwu War, according to the report: "Ogbolu the brother of Chika was angry with the British for intruding into Onicha Olona Leadership system, he put up a fight against them, at this time, one of the leaders of already subsiding Ekwumekwu War "Dunkwu Isusu" a native of Onicha Olona was in Ubulu Uku with his friend after the first heat of the war. When news came that war has ensued between Ogbolu and the British, he (Dunkwu) quickly came back to support Ogbolu and his kinsmen, he dealt much against the British in that fight and burnt down the British properties and houses in Olona, Isele-Uku, Ezi etc, he (Dunkwu) was later captured by the British through A betrayer in the town, who exposed the secret and the power of the fighters, Dunkwu was judged and killed in Abuano alongside three other great men of the town, while Ogbolu (the brother of Chika) King designate after Chika's death and ten other men of the town were sent to Calabar Prison. Uzuka went and retrieved the body of Dunkwu Isusu and buried him because he died while fighting for Umu Ugbe. As the British conquered and sent the elders of Umu Ugbe with their supporters to Calabar Prison, the nephews of Chika and Ogbolu left the town but one stayed to look after home, his name was Iyiegbue. Monye moved to Ubulubu and got married to an Ubulubu woman, Nwabuokei left his Idumuje wife and moved to Okpanam where he took an Okpanam woman who had a daughter for him, he also took an Igbuzo woman who had nine sons for him, the last of the nine sons was Nduka. Nwabuokei became a strong man then, he joined the strong traditional groups in Onicha Olona and tried helping Onicha Olona to get back to their feet but died in 1939 after helping Onicha Olona to secure the weekly Olie market, when his beloved last son (Nduka) was 9years old. Nduka began to worry his Mother to explain the things he saw and heard when his father was alive, his mother (Ngbor nwa Obi Eseagwu of Umuneze, who's mother is of Umueze-Okolo, Umu-Odafe Odanta Igbuzo), called on Nwachi (the godfather of Nduka), being from the second royal house of Onicha Olona and a close friend of Nwabuokei, she mandated Nwachi to take care of Nduka and help him to know everything he may need to know. So Nduka grew to become the preserver of the history, custom and traditions of the people in his early years. He was a great light to many monarchs in the region as at 1960s to 1970s.
